I feel like a stalker. I recognised the name Les Player, read the About history of your company and Les, found his details on Linkedin, and feel we are almost related. My first computer was an Atari ST, (Les was a director of Atari) and then I used GFA Basic (Les was then a director of GFA Basic company) - but I preferred HiSoft Basic (sorry!). I then went on to use several Data Becker programs in 199x ish including the 3D Walkthrough program, which was the first version of Arcon released by Data Becker (Les was a director) . I continued with Arcon and met Les and his Swedish wife at several Home Building and Renovating shows. Swedish wife was famous because she was on the telly for a long time in 'The Bentley Village' program. I think Les was also in a few. I recently have been using your new software and after reading about the above Arcon videos recognised the name. I just visited the Arcon stand at NEC, but when I asked about Les Player they said he had sold the Arcon company and left- they didnt say he was now behind their main competition! Great software- great people. LJ (sorry if off topic)

If your Arcon or Grand Design 3D version was not supplied with the XML export feature then I suggest you contact Eleco Software to determine availability. Visual Building is a brand new development based source code developed using .Net Visual Studio 2010 / C#. There are several person currently working with Visual Building that were responsible for Arcon development in the past. Boring voice? No arguement there :) but yes Les Player did produce many of the Arcon videos during the time that he owned 3D Architect Software Ltd prior to selling it to Eleco. More details here
Arcon 3D Architect & Grand Designs 3D Doors Video 17 Nov 2011 16:18 #73
I have just watched the Arcon 3D Architect & Grand Designs 3D Doors Tutorial video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IunCFpJHyI and just realised after watching your videos that these videos have been made by the same person. I then checked the other arcon videos and in fact many of the arcon 3D architect and Grand Design videos appear to be made by the same person as all the visual building videos and in the same style. At least the (boring :) ) voice is the same. The software also look very similar. Whats the connection? I have been using Grand Design and Arcon for many years but looking to upgrade, and I noticed in the the visual building software evaluation that there is an import feature called ArCon Xml Import. What does this do? How can I create an arcon xml file? I cant find this feature in my arcon software. If I can import my arcon projects then I will definitely will upgrade from my arcon to visual building? Is there an upgrade discount?
