Hello,
I wanted to get a UAD Card (I guess Duo would be strong enough) and I wanted to upgrade my Audio Interface soon too and thought about getting the RME Babyface. Now however I stumbled upon the Apollo Twin Duo which would more or less be both in one so obviously I got pretty excited about it. The only problem is that I use a Mac Mini with Windows on Bootcamp. Getting the standard Apollo Twin Duo would have meant that I had to switch to OSX which I am not very familiar with and which seems to be organized in a logic that does not align with my logic. Now however I have found out that there is a USB version of the unit too, what obviously would be very cool as it could be used on Windows. The only thing bothering me is that it has been made for windows ONLY. Does this mean it still works perfectly fine attached to my Mac Minis USB 3 port when using bootcamped windows 7 or may I have trouble with that setup?
Also, does the USB version work equally well as the TB-version (latency-vise etc..) or is it more/less efficient?
What is more, I am working a lot with headphones (so I hope the outputs are good but i guess so), and sometimes switching to my monitors and back again, will the one-knob design be tedious to work with for me or does switching around go quite fluidly?
And ultimately, I guess quality-vise it´s more or less on par with the babyface and it should be pretty stable too, am I right? Or should I still consider the babyface?
Thank you for some answers in advance!
Apollo Twin Uad Software
I recently purchased the Apollo Twin X and after installing the latest driver I found that the UAD Meter & Control Panel tells me 'No Devices Found'. The apollo twin x is also not an option for output in System Preferences > Sound > Output.. Also not a option in Finder > Utilites > Audio Midi Device and is not an option in Pro Tools 11. I did make sure to restart and within 30 minutes click Okay in system preferences > Security and privacy.
I checked System information and the computer recognizes that there is apollo twin x connected to the thunderbolt port--it just isn't recognized anywhere else by the mac or the UAD software.

What should I do, short of buying a new macbook computer or maybe installing mojave instead? (Which i don't want to do because my pro tools version 11 may stop working..)
